Note di degustazione
Founded in 1849, Pol Roger is one of the few Grand Marque champagnes still owned and run by descendants of the founder. Best known as Winston Churchill's champagne of choice, Pol Roger has built an enviable reputation for its quality, finesse and elegance. The Brut Vintage 2009 is produced from the traditional house blend of 60% Pinot Noir and 40% Chardonnay grapes, harvested from as many as twenty Grand and Premier Cru vineyards in the Montagne de Reims and the Cotes des Blancs. Produced only in limited quantities, the Brut Vintage 2009 has been aged for eight years in Pol Roger's deep, cool cellars before being disgorged and released onto the market. 2009 is widely recognised as a very good vintage for Pinot Noir and Chardonnay - generous and opulent with a gorgeous fruit profile and drinking beautifully now.

60% Pinot Noir, 40% Chardonnay. Lees ageing eight years. Disgorged 17 October 2016. Dosage 7 g/l. Tasted blind from magnum . Mid gold. Intense, dry and interesting. Very satisfying wine with a beginning, middle and end. Good balance. Just a little sweet on the end but it has great tension. (JR)
Deep gold. Rich and very evolved. Almost sweet! Almost a champagne to serve with dessert. I'd say to be served sooner rather than later. (JR)
Reasonably nervy nose and then quite a rich palate but it fades just a little on the end. Certainly very friendly. (JR)
Informazioni sul produttore

Pol Roger is one of Champagne’s most respected Grandes Marques. While it is best known undoubtedly for its prestige cuvée Sir Winston Churchill, it also produces one of the finest non-vintage bottlings on the market.
