Magnum. You'd never guess this had much residual sugar, so insistent is the acidity. Very long and intense. (JR)

The 2015 Riesling Schlossberg comes from the bottom of the praised single vineyard and opens with a lovely, pure, refined and elegant bouquet of bright Riesling and lemon fruit aromas, intertwined with very delicate flinty/mineral flavors. On the palate, this is a full-bodied and rich, yet elegant Riesling with a warm, super ripe fruit (that reminds me of healthy shriveled raisins) and some grippy rather than fine phenols. The acidity is vital and finely racy, and takes this Schlossberg to a long and aromatic, pretty refreshing finish with stimulating salinity. The tannins are still there though, and still a bit astringent. Picked between September 22 and 28, bottled in June 2016. Tasted December 2016.
From higher up the slope than the Cuvée Colette. Deeper gold. More lift aromatically but tenser and not as ready. Hold on! Chalky finish. Very tense. (JR)
