Fully garnet colour. Spice-bomb nose with whole-bunch herbiness and red-cherry fruit. Beetroot, rhubarb, root vegetables, iron ore. Soft tannins, light body, long granitic length as well as violet fragrance. At its peak now – absolutely delicious. (RH)

Savory, classic, glossy and red, the 2015 Pinot Noir is littered with Szechuan peppercorns, pomegranate molasses, tobacco leaf and brine, and the package is one that teeters on a seesaw of savory spice and sweet fruit. The tannins are uber fine in an open-weave pattern, and while they direct the fruit through the mouth, they do not obstruct it. The fruit is a little plumper here than the austere 2014—it's a style call for preference.
50% whole-bunch fermentation. Good year. Shaded ruby. Rather light nose. Sweet palate entry but not as refined, perfumed and Pinot-like as some. Flattering rather than fine. Juicy. (JR)
