Aromas of grilled meats, berry compote, plums, dark chocolate and soil tones preface the 2015 Fleurie Les Moriers, a medium to full-bodied, rich and structured wine with a rather roasted fruit profile and plenty of powdery tannin that asserts itself on the finish. The fruit here hasn't lived up to my optimistic assessment back in 2018, when this seemed to be one of the fresher 2015 Beaujolais, and I tend to think that the tannin will win out in this vintage, though for the time being it's still a nice enough wine in its rather rustic, chewy style.

Mid crimson. Pure but lightly dusty dark-red fruit – finely fragrant. Super-fine tannins and fresh and succulent with more finesse and structure than many Beaujolais 2015s. Tight and elegant and only just broachabble. On granite and kept the freshness that many did not in this vintage. Almost austere but actually very beautiful. GV (JH)
Deep ruby. High-pitched red berry, spicecake and floral scents are complemented by deeper suggestions of cherry pit and licorice. Taut and sharply focused on entry, offering palate-staining bitter cherry and raspberry flavors that flesh out and turn sweeter with aeration. Silky tannins add gentle grip to the finish, which hangs with very impressive, subtly spicy tenacity. The interplay of power and elegance here is quite something.
