(aged for 18 months in 300-liter French and American oak barrels, one-third new): Brilliant violet color. Heady aromas of ripe black and blue fruits, incense and pungent flowers, with subtle vanilla and mineral nuances building in the glass. Concentrated and vibrant, delivering sappy, palate-staining blueberry, cassis and floral pastille flavors enlivened by a jolt of zesty minerality. The impressively long, mineral-tinged finish features gentle tannins and an echo of candied flowers.

Medium to deep garnet/purple, the Shiraz Reserve has a youthfully mute nose exuding crushed blackberries and wild blueberries dotted with notes of cloves, pepper and anise. Big, voluptuous and full-bodied in the mouth, it has tons of spice, black fruit and savory flavors that are shaped by firm, grainy tannins and a long finish.
