Punteggio 91/100 · Jeb Dunnuck, Oct 2017

Made from a mix of white varieties (Mostly Grenache Blanc plus a bit of Roussanne, Marsanne, Clairette, and Bourboulenc ) that was aged 18 months in foudre and concrete eggs, the 2014 Côtes du Rhône Inopia from this terrific estate is a classy, high-quality white that offers lots of buttered citrus, sautéed apple, honeycomb, and crushed rocks. It has plenty of richness and depth, yet offers a bright, clean and crisp finish. It needed plenty of air to show at its best and it’s an age-worthy effort to enjoy anytime over the coming 4-6+ years. This domaine is owned by Burgundy-based Mounir and Rotem Saouma, and you can certainly find more than passing resemblances to high-class Burgundies in these wines. They prefer long elevages, with the wines spending plenty of time on skins in amphoras and casks. These are expensive, yet beautiful wines.
