Note di degustazione
This and all the wines from now on in this line-up served from bottle. Dosage 10 g/l – the same as in the 1989 and 1988 it was served with. Disgorged July 2004. Deep gold. Quite mature and surprisingly savoury for the vintage although with great richness on the palate. Dry finish. Some slight signs of age emerged over time in the glass. (JR)

Rich nose but without the concentration of the 1998. Indeed it seems a little light and evanescent by now. Acidity starting to dominate the finish. Or perhaps this is just a disappointing bottle? (JR)
Very rich nose. Quite developed. Creamy Pinot perfume and richness. Full and opulent. Hint of truffles. Very rich. Pretty sweet actually. A langoustine wine because of its sweetness? (JR)
Magnum. Very deep copper. Very big and bold and almost sweet. Not the finesse of some – rather too alcoholic for me. This was very popular with my fellow tasters but I thought its best days may be behind it. (JR)
