Note di degustazione
The 2015 Gigondas La Tour Sarrasine is cut from the same cloth and has plenty of game, leather, pepper and earth aromas and flavors, with ripe black fruits coming through with time in the glass. A blend of 70% Grenache and 15% each of Syrah and Mourvèdre, from limestone soils on the southern end of the appellation, drink this old-school, medium-bodied, balanced 2015 anytime over the coming decade.

The 2015 Gigondas La Tour Sarrasine is a super effort. It's 70% Grenache with the rest split equally between Syrah and Mourvèdre, aged in steel and/or concrete, yet shows a fine dusting of ground spices atop ripe cherry fruit. This full-bodied wine is plush and creamy in texture and maybe a touch warm but really persistent on the finish.
Brilliant ruby. Assertive red and dark berry scents are complicated by suggestions of candied flowers, spicecake and vanilla. Concentrated yet lively on the palate, offering juicy blackberry and cherry-vanilla flavors that fan out slowly on the back half. Shows strong closing energy, building sweetness and late-arriving, well-knit tannins.
70% Grenache, 15% Syrah, 15% Mourvèdre. 100% destemmed fruit vinified in stainless steel. Matured in concrete. Cask sample. Tasted blind. Dark crimson. Warm, ripe, herby cocktail on the nose. But pretty tough on the chewy end. Only medium fruit weight. Needs time. (JR)
