The 2015 Schloss Johannisberger Rotlack Riesling Kabinett Feinherb has a clear bouquet of ripe apples. It is round, piquant and charming, very finesse-full and light, but finishes with character and a nice grip.

Sourced from the stony upper part of the Johannisberg, the 2015 Schloss Johannisberger Rotlack Riesling Kabinett Trocken is a beautifully clear and concentrated wine with red berry and delicate flinty aromas. On the palate, the Rotlack is virtually too intense and complex for a Kabinett, but with this terroir and a vintage like 2015, it seems impossible to harvest a Kabinett. Mind you, though, that this is not a heavy wine. It is just that complex, dry, pure, stony and well structured, due to the stony grand cru terroir with its clay topsoil. It is a grand cru, in fact, and you could still taste this in 10-15 years, if you were passionate enough. This wine is bone dry and was bottled with just 11.5% alcohol.
