Note di degustazione
Bright red. Alluring perfumed lift to the aromas of dark berries, minerals and flowers. Concentrated, juicy and pure, displaying superb energy to its dark fruit and spice flavors. Really saturates the taste buds on the slowly mounting finish, which features fine-grained tannins and sappy acidity. Anne Gros noted that she's surprised at how pretty the tannins are here. A standout in 2014, but then these very old vines located above Richebourg virtually always outperform.

(still in barrels; 40% new oak): Bright, dark red. Pure, high-pitched aromas and flavors of raspberry and spicy oak accented by a note of blood orange. Offers compelling sucrosité balanced by lively high-altitude acidity (these very old vines are situated above Richebourg). Wonderfully supple and broad for village wine. Gros upped the percentage of new oak a bit for this wine and her Clos Vougeot in 2014 due to the structure of the wines.
The 2014 Vosne-Romanée les Barreaux comes from vines that actually neighbor those of Les Varoilles lieu-dit in Richebourg. It has a stoic, slightly earthy nose at first, nicely defined, with a faint marine influence coming through. The palate is well balanced with juicy red and black fruit, not overly complex but with appreciable succulence on the easy going finish.
