Punteggio 95/100 · Da bere 2024-2029, Nicolas Greinacher, Vinous, Jul 2024

The 2004 Côtes du Jura Les Vignes de Mon Père enters with toast, cumin spice, crushed rocks, jasmine and a touch of sea spray. After a few minutes of aeration, delicate honeysuckle and a slice of quince add more layers. Touching the palate with stunning purity, the 2004 shows remarkably little evolution despite celebrating its 20th birthday. Concluding with saline elements on the sapid finale, this delicious wine is at peak.

Punteggio 97/100 · Da bere 2015-2030, Luis Gutiérrez, Wine Advocate, Oct 2015

There is one more Savagnin, issued from a super selection, a micro-cuvée of the clone Savagnin Vert from blue marl soils. If there is one wine that is truly exceptional in this collection, it is without a doubt the 2004 Savagnin Les Vignes de Mon Pere, a wine that is aged in topped-up barrels for no less than ELEVEN YEARS! Yes, you've read it correctly, 11 years, or 130 months, and that is without a veil of yeasts. What is amazing is that this wine is as fresh as a daisy. However, during 11 years in the cellar, the wine surely gets some flor-yeast, Jura twang, vin Jaune-like character from the yeast floating around, even if you top up the barrels. The nose is both young and developed, and incredible for its age. The palate is sharp and precise with precision. Tasted next to the regular 2012s and 2011s, it looks almost the same age. It has a stream of electric acidity. This is an eternal wine, the problem is availability, as I guess there are not a lot more than 800 liters produced. This is a truly world class white. This wine was produced every year since 1998 and against all odds, the 2003 (a truly warm vintage) feels the freshest and more balanced, with the 2000 following close. All of them are highly recommended.
