The 2012 Lemberger GG Fellbacher Lämmler Bergmandel is deep, pure, fine and intense on the fresh and spicy nose, which proves that Lemberger really likes warm yet well-balanced vintages. Full-bodied on the palate, this is a dense, intense and complex red with tension, grip and mineral freshness on the vivacious and even salty finish. Excellent and still so fresh and young! Tasted from AP 2814 in April 2020.

Picked in November. 60% new oak for 18 months. Lovely blackberry-jam nose. Rich dark roasted fruits on the palate with a sweet, slightly smoky, herbal streak. Quite chunky tannins, but they seem to fit squarely against the backdrop of this very ripe black fruit. (TC)
Deep shade of ruby with purple rim. Cinnamon, black pepper and a seriously smoky scent form an intriguing coalition of aromas. The flavour does not only reveal the usual suspects of bitter chocolate, blackberries, tobacco and spice, but also a pronounced salty tang determined to prove mineral providence. (MS)
