Note di degustazione
Inky ruby. Mineral- and smoke-accented dark berry preserves, candied licorice, fruitcake and a touch of vanilla on the deeply perfumed nose. Juicy, palate-coating cherry and black currant flavors show outstanding depth, and an undercurrent of smoky minerality adds back-end lift and cut. Picks up a suave floral nuance on the strikingly long finish, which is framed by velvety, harmonious tannins.

The 2015 Eclipse is 90% Grenache, 7% Graciano and 3% Shiraz, all from the estate vineyard in McLaren Vale. At this stage, it lacks the perfume of the intoxicating 2014, but it's packed with concentrated fruit. Yes, it's a powerful, high-octane wine, but the alcohol doesn't show as heat when served at the proper temperature (16-18 degrees Celsius, or 60-65 degrees Fahrenheit). Deep raspberry and mulberry flavors pick up hints of spice on the lingering, silky-firm finish.
