The 2014 Berncasteler Doctor Riesling Kabinett shows a very clear and elegant, also intense and concentrated bouquet of ripe yellow stone fruit aromas. This is a very sweet and highly elegant, piquant and salty Doctor with great finesse, perfect balance and mineral expression. However, the ripeness, sweetness and creamy roundness is that of a Spätlese.

A decadent, musky lily and narcissus combination on the nose ushers in a creamy palate featuring apple and muskmelon but also liquid floral perfume. The long finish introduces some of the cooling, soothing green herbal notes found in other Thanisch 2014s, and in this case they offer especially welcome contrast to the wine's aura of decadence.
Smoky stony aroma with grapefruit pith, intense ripe citrus on the palate. Harmonious and sustained. (JH)
