Smooth and fleshy on the palate, offering spice-tinged blackberry and violet pastille flavors and a touch of smokiness. Tightens up with air and finishes sweet and long, displaying harmonious tannins and building spiciness.

A beautiful base cuvée that just begs to be drunk, the 2014 Côte Rôtie Champin Le Seigneur (90% Syrah and 10% Viognier aged in 50% new barrels) is loaded with classic Côte Rôtie notes of smoked meats, licorice, mulled red and black fruits, and hints of bacon fat.
