Punteggio 91/100 · Da bere 2016-2020, Luis Gutiérrez, Wine Advocate, Jun 2016
The name given to the red Trousseau is 2014 Plein Sud, sourced from a young vineyard planted in the year 2000 on stony and grey marl soils that come from Chalandigna rocks. The reds are always destemmed but never crushed, and aged in Burgundian barrels for one year, and bottled one year earlier than the whites. This is somewhere in between the Julien and l'Enfant Terrible, with a touch of volatility and organic earthiness, but cleaner and precise in the Pinot Noir way. All these reds benefit from contact with air and decanting them in advance is advisable; it's even mentioned on some of the back labels. It's sharp, a little edgy, with marked acidity and ethereal red berry flavors, lifted by acidity.
