Beautifully perfumed nose with rich, ripe, dark fruits; plum, black cherry and delicate oak notes. Perfectly balanced with rounded tannins, ripe acidity and excellent concentration. Classic long Chapoutier finish.

(20% new oak): Dark purple. Powerful blackberry, anise and violet pastille scents expand with air, picking up a smoky nuance and a hint of minerality. Juicy dark berry flavors are complemented by zesty acidity and a jolt of spiciness. Quite suave, even elegant for Cornas. Leaves bright floral pastille and blackberry compote notes behind on a long, incisive finish that features silky, fully absorbed tannins.
Like the 2013, the 2012 Cornas Bio has a classic feel in its cracked pepper, wild herbs, tobacco leaf and meaty bouquet. Medium-bodied, juicy and pure, it has impressive focus, bright acidity and clean finish. It will benefit from another year or three in the cellar and have over a decade of overall longevity.
(all barriques, 25% of them new): Inky purple. Sexy, highly perfumed aromas of blueberry, bacon fat, truffle and cracked pepper. Juicy, appealingly sweet and pliant, offering energetic dark fruit flavors and suggestions of smoky minerals and violet. Distinctly vibrant in style, with strong closing lift and gentle tannins adding shape.
