Note di degustazione
Deep ruby. Smoky, expansive scents of fresh blackberry, violet and peppery spices and a zesty mineral nuance building in the glass. Supple and broad on the palate, offering plump black and blue fruit flavors and a subtle licorice pastille nuance. A peppery quality adds cut to a long, gently sweet finish shaped by harmonious tannins. I find this wine quite accessible today, especially after an hour or so of aeration.

Dark ruby. Deeply pitched aromas of ripe blackberry, candied flowers, incense and smoky minerals, with a suggestion of licorice in the background. Broad and appealingly sweet on the palate, offering intense black and blue fruit flavors enlivened by juicy acidity. Finishes smooth and seamless, with supple tannins building slowly and lending shape to the wine's plush berry fruit.
The 2013 Saint Joseph la Source is a solid, elegant and medium-bodied 2013 that gives up lots of wild herbs, garrigue, saddle leather and black cherry and black raspberry like fruit. It's mid-weight, yet balanced, classy and easy drinking.
