Note di degustazione
Ripe honeydew melon mingles with contrasting crunchy apple and bracing fresh lime. These are joined by quince on a glossy, subtly creamy, pure-fruited palate. Hints of almond cream paste and vanilla cream create a lightly confectionary impression that somehow harmonizes with the wine’s vivacious fresh-fruit aspects. There is a lovely sense of lift throughout this performance (perhaps unsurprisingly given a mere 7.5 percent alcohol), but the sense of sweetness comes off as ideally supportive of the wine’s lavish abundance of fruit, without seeming at all extraneous. The lusciously sustained finish is suffused with saliva-liberating salinity and transparent to a shimmering impression of crystalline stony impingements. There’s an amazing lot going on here!

Still a bit reductive but very clear and aromatic on the flinty nose, the 2015 Brauneberger Juffer Riesling Spätlese is intense, lush and filigreed on the palate, but also firmly structured and vital. Provided with a tight and mineral finish, this is an excellent, very elegant, precise and finessed Spätlese. It has a perfectly ripe fruit and a stimulating mineral backbone. This comes highly recommended!
Quite stinky spontaneous-fermentation nose. Masses of ripe fruit on palate entry. Confident, ambitious wine. Lots to enjoy. (JR)
