Note di degustazione
Tasted blind. Pale ruby. Quite a subtle nose and definitely on the light side. Good salty savoury finish. This would make a thoroughly pleasant drink without food, so mature is it. Quite long and sophisticated. Low tannin. (JR)

Scorched meat, fresh blackcurrants, sappy herbs and liquorice to finish. Quite lean and strappy in structure, but has the classic aroma profile for St Joseph. (RH)
Bright violet. Lively aromas of fresh dark berries and candied flowers, accompanied by a suggestion of olive that emerges as the wine opens up. Taut and nervy in style, offering energetic blackberry and bitter cherry flavors and a late touch of peppery spices. Finishes sweet, silky and quite long, leaving a note of candied violet behind.
As to the 2014s, these check in behind the deeper, richer 2015s, but are elegant, polished reds that will drink nicely for 7-8 years. The 2014 Saint Joseph resembles a high-quality Côte Rôtie with its medium-bodied, elegant, polished style and classic notes of black cherries, olive, flowers and smoked earth. Drink it over the coming 7-8 years.
