The color of the 2013 Riesling Thann (a turbo fermenter in this difficult vintage) is as yellow as that of the label. Sourced from the younger vines in the Rangen (planted between 1978 and 1986), and provided with a pure and mineral bouquet of yellow apples and crystalline rocks, this is a bone dry Riesling with a nice and mineral though gentle acidity. Light-bodied and lean but with a serious mineral structure, this is a somewhat ascetic yet digestible visiting card of the volcanic Rangen soils. A wine for Protestant Riesling lovers.
