Same blend as Brut 2008 plus 14% red from different parcels, all in Bouzy (more Nuits-Saint-Georges than Chambolle). Similar colour to La Grande Dame ros é 2008, only very slightly darker than La Grande Dame Blanc 2008. If someone were blindfolded they might well guess it was a still Pinot Noir. Big and bold. With a little more acidity and vegy streak than most Pinots. Ends like a 2008, with the vintage’s characteristic tightness but very bold and fruity. (JR)

Tasted blind. Very tart palate and occluded nose. Not yet ready. Too introvert and not enough dosage. (JR)
Dosage 8 g/l. 61% Pinot Noir (14% of which is red wine), 34% Chardonnay, 5% Pinot Meunier. Eight years on lees. Spice, bread, simple red fruit, quite lean and restrained and doesn't have the generosity of the non-vintage. Not better (or worse) so much, but more acidic and defined – if that's your preference. Perhaps built to age? (RH)
Quite a deep pale tomato colour – a sign of changing fashions in champagne tints? Not much nose. But round and very well balanced on the palate with some depth and grunt. Doesn't seem that dry but nor is it over-sweet. Satisfying and mouth-filling. Deep and dense. A very serious rosé. But I should imagine not a bargain one. Good persistence. (JR)
