Note di degustazione
Deep ruby. Aromas of ripe dark fruit, spicecake and candied lavender gain vivacity from a smoky mineral element. Gently sweet, palate-staining blackberry and bitter cherry flavors turn fleshier and spicier with air and pick up a suggestion of cracked pepper. Chewy and focused, finishing with strong mineral cut and even tannins that are slowly absorbed by the dark fruit.

A head turner, the 2013 Lirac Cuvee de la Reine des Bois sports an inky purple color to go with classic notes of Provençal herbs, earth, leather and the essence of jammy blackberry-styled fruit. Medium to full-bodied, beautifully ripe and concentrated, buy this beauty by the case and drink it over the coming 8-10 years.
Grenache, Clairette, Roussanne, Marsanne, Viognier, Picpoul. Scented decongestant nose. Floral. Pretty substantial and round. Excellent texture. Easy to like. Well put together with some structure. Just a hint of oiliness on the end. Only just enough acidity – drink pretty young! (JR)
Tank/cask sample. Equal parts of Grenache, Syrah and Mourvèdre with a third aged in oak and the rest in stainless steel. Very dark glowing purple. Savoury nose and very sweet palate. Rather uncomfortably drying tannins on the finish. Lightly gamey. (JR)
