Note di degustazione
Deep ruby. Spice- and smoke-accented dark berries on the highly perfumed nose, complicated by a touch of incense. Intense bitter cherry and boysenberry flavors gain lift and definition from an undertone of zesty minerality. Picks up a suave floral quality on the impressively persistent finish, which is framed by supple, slow-building tannins.

Another wine that doesn’t lack for structure, the 2013 Gigondas Le Claux (99% Grenache and 1% Syrah) offers lots of camphor, graphite, ground pepper and limestone-like minerality to go with a medium to full-bodied, very fresh, focused and elegant style on the palate. As with the Hominis Fides, it shows more tannic grip with time in the glass, and will benefit from short term cellaring.
Vivid ruby. Deeply pitched dark berry and cherry pit scents open slowly, picking up hints of lavender, anise and allspice. Taut and sharply focused, with bitter cherry and boysenberry flavors given spine by juicy acidity. Shows excellent clarity and power on the long, youthfully tannic finish, with the cherry and floral notes echoing.
Mid crimson. Quite evolved with light floral notes. Sweet and mouth filling although it could do with a little more savour. Finishes very sweet. (JR)
