Punteggio 89/100 · Da bere 2016-2019, Jeb Dunnuck, Wine Advocate, Apr 2016
I found the 2014 IGP Saint Guilhem le Desert Blanc hard to read. Made from 24% Viognier, 23% Chardonnay, 24% Petit Manseng and the rest Chenin Blanc and other varieties, it has a ripe, tropical and honeyed bouquet to go with a nicely concentrated, ripe, textured style on the palate. Possessing moderate acidity, sweet fruit (there’s certainly some residual sugar) and a good finish, it’s already enjoyable, yet I suspect it will round into form with another year in bottle. It should age on its concentration. A touch more acidity would help here.
