Citrus blossom, crushed rocks, tangerine and white flowers all emerge from the 2014 Condrieu les Terrasses de L'Empire, which is fresh, lively and pure, yet with straight-up classic Condrieu character. It's easily the most fresh, crisp and lively of the trio.

Stunning purity of fruit. So effortless, yet so extraordinarily intricate. Long, clean, and staunchly savoury despite the richness of flavour. (RH)
Light gold. A complex, expansive bouquet evokes ripe orchard and pit fruits, honey, violet and chamomile, while a zesty mineral nuance adds lift. Rich and seamless on the palate, offering intense poached pear, lemon gelato and white peach flavors complemented by hints of anise and succulent herbs. Closes spicy, sappy and very long, with nervy mineral cut and strong persistence.
Very correct nose with that attractive savour that sets Condrieu apart from varietal Viognier but this example still has lots of acidity that needs to dissipate. (JR)
