Noble sweet lemon, grapefruit and honey aromas on the nose of the auctioned 8% alcohol 2013 Wehlener Sonnenuhr Riesling Auslese Long Gold Capsule (AP number #24 14) still displays the flinty character of the weathered slate of the world-famous cru. This is a beautiful expressive, mineral, salty and persistent Auslese with a beautifully juicy and piquant finish. Densely textured, but always precise and mineral, always nervy and vibrant, lingering and stimulating. A wine made for eternity.
