Inky ruby. An alluringly perfumed bouquet evokes ripe black and blue fruits, candied licorice, exotic spices and incense, and shows a bright mineral topnote. Stains the palate with intense, spice-laced blackberry, boysenberry and violet pastille flavors that deepen and become sweeter with aeration. Delivers a compelling blend of richness and finesse and finishes extremely long and spicy, with smooth tannins sneaking in late. (JR)

A beautiful Frank Balthazar, the 2013 Cornas Chaillot is the top cuvee of the estate and sports a deep purple/ruby color as well as fresh, distinctly cool-climate notes of white pepper, black fruits, sappy herbs and wet stone. Medium-bodied, fresh, elegant and nicely concentrated, drink it anytime over the coming decade.
Glass-staining ruby. Suave, mineral-accented aromas of boysenberry, cherry liqueur, violet and allspice, and a smoky note that expands in the glass. Offers palate-staining red and blue fruit flavors complemented by notes of spicecake and candied flowers. Powerful but also lithe and precise, finishing with outstanding clarity, a sexy floral note and silky tannins that come in late. (JR)
Brilliant ruby-red. Intense red berry and floral aromas are lifted and sharpened by a pungent mineral nuance. Zesty, focused and pure, showing good heft to its spicy raspberry and bitter cherry flavors, which pick up a smoky quality with air. Shows a a suave blend of power and vivacity, finishing with firm grip and supple, slowly building tannins.
