The 2012 Moutere Chardonnay gives beautiful warm peach, passionfruit and pineapple scents with a cedary lift nicely intertwined with floral notes, roasted nuts and crushed stones, plus a touch of sulfides. The palate yields tight-knit, concentrated fruit with great freshness giving lift to the long and creamy finish. This was truly a great vintage for this wine!

Pale lemon-yellow. Musky peach, lemon and oak notes of caramel and vanilla on the nose. Dense, spicy and dry, offering a distinctly wild quality to its stone fruit, spice and macadamia nut flavors. Finishes with very good length and repeating oak notes of vanilla and nuts.
Bright pale gold. Chalky scent and then lots of green fruit and great life and vibrancy. Not desperately subtle but bouncing with life. Very tangy. The acidity really shines through. I tasted this alongside Kershaw Chardonnay 2012 Elgin from South Africa and found less real density and substance but it's a very refreshing mouthful that I'm sure will last well. (JR)
