Dried apricots on the coolish and spicy/mineral nose, some white pepper flavors. Very firm, quite austere and slightly driving in the finish with good apricot concentration. The 1987 Riesling Clos Ste Hune has firm tannins, and is quite drying, astringent and austere.

Difficult vintage. RS 2.3 g/l. Gold with greenish hints. Not that aromatic. Quite reductive. A little muted. Still some sulphur compounds in evidence? Lacks a bit of nerve and charm. There's even a hint of decay. (JR)
