2008 Clos des Lambrays

Very unusual wine. They make no more than 180 litres. (Georges Lignier also owns about 100 vines in Clos des Lambrays.) Pale crimson. Wonderfully ethereal yet ripe nose. Correct and fleshy and beautifully appealing even now. Grand Cru class really shines through. Lift and lots of very pure fruit with tannins only at the end. Acidity seems under check here. Really persistent yet fresh. (JR)
