The 2000 Cornas Domaine St.-Pierre exhibits a dark ruby color along with sweet, peppery, earthy, black currant and cherry fruit, medium body, and a tannic, hard finish. Moderately saturated full red. Harmonious, complex aromas of currant and roasted herbs. Supple and vinous, with firm acidity and good drive. This shows a fruit/acid balance similar to the Grandes Terrasses 2000 but comes across as more backward today.
