Mid amber. Intense and savoury on the nose. (Nicholas Payne remembers being served the 1962 straight from concrete vat because orders were non existent so they hadn’t bottled it in 1972). Herbal hint on the nose that’s quite unusual. Fairly light but very well balanced. With real grip on the finish. Still quite youthful. (JR)
