This consistent property at Cussac, between Margaux and St Julien, continues to offer excellent value for money and has deservedly been a favourite with members of The Wine Society for over 20 years. The vineyard is planted with 60% cabernet sauvignon, 35% merlot, 3% cabernet franc and 2% petit verdot. As ripe, fresh and charming as ever, this property is hard to beat in terms of value for money. Cassis, leather, pepper, slightest hint of leaf, decent tannic grip. (RH)

Fresh but not subtle nose. Silky texture. But pretty austere tannins without quite enough flesh to (ever?) compensate. GV probably. (JR)
Bright crimson with a pale pink rim. Fresh and quite fine though far from intense. Round and sweet on the front palate – very friendly and attractive with bright well balanced fruit. Tarry finish but good positive character. (JR)
