The 1997 Cornas reveals a dense black/ruby/purple color, as well as sweet, ripe fruit with an element of sur-maturite. The tell-tale cassis, licorice, mineral, animal, and meaty aromas are present, but the wine possesses a velvety texture, concentrated fruit, and a long, powerful, rich finish.
