Note di degustazione
See the 2010 vintage for background on this vineyard and the winemaking. All puncheons for this vintage. pH 3.6. Warmer vintage than 2010 giving more perfume, less developed tannins, less brooding character. Oak a little more evident on the nose than in the 2010 but there is such refinement and elegance on the palate. Almost austere but the mostly red fruit is still pretty and lifted and fresh. Very precise. Juicy, fluid, focused, no excess flesh. Long. (JH)

Medium ruby in color and showing a good amount of evolution with coffee and dried cherry notes plus some dried plum hints and spice box nuances, the 2010 Block 2 Pinot Noir has stewed tea and earthy notes coming through in the mouth with chewy tannins and a long finish. Drink now.
Rows 1-37. MV6 clone. About 300 dozen bottles filled. Mid ruby. Rather sweeter than the Block 6 with more luscious, forward fruit. Quite a charmer with both depth and freshness. Builds towards the finish in an admirably burgundian way. (JR)
