The extraordinary 2003 Shiraz Lily’s Garden exhibits an inky ruby/purple hue to the rim in addition to a stunning aromatic display of blackberries, cassis liqueur, licorice, smoky oak, sweet chocolate, and espresso roast. A fabulously concentrated, multidimensional, layered wine with power, elegance, and a seamless personality, it can be drunk young or cellared for a decade or more. This brilliant operation is a credit to the meticulous winemaking of Michael Twelftree and his staff! Importers: Vine Street Imports, Philadelphia, PA; tel. Deep glass-staining ruby. Dense, liqueur-like aromas of blackberry, black cherry, plum, coffee candy, and licorice. Full and sweet but also very fresh, with lively blackcurrant and blackberry flavors accented by sweet, cracked pepper.Quite open already, with sweet, fresh dark berry notes persisting and building as the wine opens in the glass.
