Note di degustazione
From a great year, the 2007 Grüner Veltliner Smaragd Honivogl displays a golden-yellow color and delicate honey and botrytis aromas on the highly elegant and refined bouquet. Rich, lush and round on the palate, this is an intense and powerful yet balanced Veltliner with remarkable elegance and finesse. There are fine tannins that give structure and complexity. This is a meditative Hirtzberger classic. Tasted at the domain in September 2019.

Deep gold. Big, bold and a bit of a blast from the past on the nose! Sweet and syrupy. Not really quite refreshing enough on the palate. Reasonably fun in the way that a Pinot Gris SGN is, but difficult to fit into a normal drinking regime! (JR)
Lovely perfumed honey – like heather honey – aromatic but quite intense. This wine is perfectly named – Honigvogel means literally 'honey bird'. Stunning. Power and finesse and concentration and complexity. (JH)
