A bright and clear bouquet of ripe, white-fleshed fruit aromas and mint flavors lead the 2013 Brauneberger Juffer Riesling Auslese Gold Capsule #9 to a rich and sweet, though still elegant and finesse-filled palate, with irritating ripe banana flavors. Quite fruit-dominated it currently lacks the fine piquancy and minerality the Juffer Sonnneuhr normally has.

More immediate fruit on the nose than in the equivalent Auslese without the Goldkapsel but still has a strong slaty aroma. Concentrated, sweetness balanced by the high acidity. Good stuff and good length. (JH)
