Punteggio 18.5/20 · Da bere 1990-2010, Jancis Robinson MW, May 2013

Deep copper and old the most sluggish of bubbles but they were tiny. Gloriously toasty and completely evolved. Deep flavoured and hugely satisfying. Mature champagne at its best. I loved it, although some might judge it too old. We toasted Hugh and Judy Johnson in their new London home. (JR)

Dense copper. Deep gold. Racy and tight with just the merest hint of decay. Not a great bottle. Rather whisky like! (JR)

Punteggio 18.5/20 · Da bere 2002-2005, Jancis Robinson MW, Dec 2002

(jeroboam) Definite green tinge to the gold. Even though it was disgorged so much more recently than the 1985, and was in the same size of bottle, it tasted much more than six years older. This is a champagne at its peak. Wonderful balanced in a green, cabbagy way. A racy, delicate thoroughbred. Very creamy. Gold, open and lots of fun for current drinking but it should not be kept for much longer. Disgorged 3 December, 1998 (JR)
