Note di degustazione
The 1995 Rouge enters the stage with vivid dried flowers, tobacco, spice box and earthy gradations. A marked tannic corset gives the 1995 a firm structure. Paired with its full body, this is certainly not the most elegant rendition of this cuvée. I don’t think it will get any better than this, which is why I recommend popping the cork sooner rather than later.

The 1995 Rouge is a pretty wine, but it is also a touch faded, so I would suggest drinking it sooner rather than later. Dried flowers, mint, sweet red cherry, cinnamon and earthy notes give the 1995 lovely aromatic breadth to match its mid-weight personality.
68% Cabernet Sauvignon, 6.5% Merlot, 7% Cabernet Franc, 1.5% Tannat, 6% Malbec, 2% Pinot Noir, 8% Syrah, 1% rare varieties. TA 3.24 g/l (sulphuric) , pH 3.72. Mid-garnet. Blackcurrant and menthol with very tough tannins on the palate. Attractive fruit, but the structure is rather overbearing. Grainy. Grouty, almost! Rather too unkempt for me. (RH)
30% Viognier, 30% Chardonnay, 30% Petit Manseng, 5% Roussanne/Marsanne. Pale straw colour with some gas. Lime and floral notes on the nose. Quite sweet palate entry. Bit too ripe but still lively. Too honeyed to be really fine. Slightly hot end. Drink up! (JR)
