While the 1970 De Pez has always been a well-made, elegant, stylish wine with a distinctive mineral, curranty aroma, when tasted in December (the last bottle from my cellar) it was disappointing. Although the color was sound, the wine tasted dried out, hard, and astringent. This has been a consistently good wine, so perhaps this was an off bottle. Jun 1996, www.robertparker.com
