Hints of crushed stone and mineral help offset the ripe, peachy notes on the nose of the 2008 Estate Chardonnay. Fleshy and ripe on the medium to full-bodied palate, it shows some hints of honeyed development, nearing full maturity.

The 2008 Estate Chardonnay has a ripe, slightly peachy bouquet with honeyed tones indicative of some botrytis. The taut, crisp, well-balanced palate delivers fresh acidity and fine tension on the finish, which features orange pith, white pepper and a lingering note of dried honey. There is good substance here, even if the single-vineyard Chardonnay feel more nuanced and complex. Tasted at the Kumeu River Chardonnay vertical in London.
Deep greenish straw. Light but fresh and true nose. Absolutely composed and well balanced. Lime fruit slightly fading. (JR)
