Note di degustazione
2011 was a relatively uneventful vintage regarding diseases in the Rangen, and the grapes ripened fast and were picked perfectly healthy and fermented dry within a year. The dark golden-colored 2011 Riesling Clos Saint-Urbain Rangen de Thann is clear, precise, elegant and intense on both the nose and palate. Rich and powerful but also refined and elegant on the palate, with, at least, perfectly ripe fruit, this is a concentrated, tight, tensile and mineral Rangen with the characteristic flintiness and salinity and the intense, warm, tropical fruit of the vintage. This is a generous and still youthful but structured and mineral Rangen that might refine over the years in the bottle. Bottled in February 2013 with 14.2% alcohol with 6.4 grams per liter residual sugar. Tasted as part of the large Rangen vertical in Wachenheim, Pfalz, in November 2023.

Certified organic and biodynamic. RS 6.4 g/l. Cool, refined nose. Rich start and very multi-layered. Lovely! Already very complete and thoroughly enjoyable. Great balance. (JR)
