Crimson-garnet colour with a pale rim. Big and beefy. Definitely not subtle! And doesn’t seem to have anywhere to go. (JR)

Cooler year a bit like 2007, but by 2009 they felt more confident about how to deal with it at Felton Road. Bright garnet. Sweet start and quite sweet and dusty. Not the fluidity of the 2008 Block 3. Quite dry on the end. (JR)
Bright crimson with a pale rim. Sweet, intense and jewelly. Still quite youthful. Meaty and herby without an excess of sweetness. Good fresh finish. Lots of potential. Different from the Central Otago norm- drier. (JR)
Bright mid crimson. Racy and transparent and attractively dry on the finish. Very youthful. Herbs in abundance. Proper terroir stuff. (JR)
