2004 Clos Vougeot Vieilles Vignes

Developed ruby. Heady, sweet, very slightly stewed nose with hints of coffee and sweetness too. Good balance. Fully, almost exotically, balanced. Dry finish but very rich and lively. This would reward many people as it’s easy to like even if it’s perhaps not the purest 2004. Seems quite alcoholic though the label says ‘just'. (JR)
