The 2004 Cedro is revisited this issue. This is from the days when it was a regular Douro DOC, not Duriense, with a blend of Touriga Nacional (40%), Tinta Roriz (40%) and Touriga Franca (20%). It is showing some clear signs that it has hit peak and has nowhere to go but down, if it hasn’t already started (and I think it has). It has thinned a bit. The fruit gives little evidence that it will stay fresh. That said, it is still tasty and very elegant, still nice to drink even with some hints of decline and a whiff of alcohol here and there (14.5%). Dig in. It isn’t getting any better and might get worse in the near future, but it’s nice enough now. N.B. The price of this has undergone drastic drops with time as the style of the wine changed. I have maintained the original pricing given to me, but it is far too high for current releases. Library wines, of course, vary widely in pricing when available. Drink now.
