A blend of 80% Marsanne and 20% Roussanne that’s aged all in new French oak, the 2008 Tardieu-Laurent Hermitage Blanc sports an almost white burgundy perfume of white peach, quince, almond paste, and classy oak and toast on the nose. Very fresh and focused, with fantastic precision and delineation aromatically, the wine is medium+ bodied on the palate and beautifully textured and balanced, showing solid acidity, laser-like focus, and a dry, very long finish. Excellent now (and shows best with a decant), this should be very long lived.

Light gold. Mineral-driven aromas of dried pear, peach and white flowers, with a subtle note of honey in the background. Sappy, palate-staining orchard and pit fruit flavors are braced by a lemony quality and given spine by firm minerality. An exotic spicy quality builds with air and carries through a long, smoky, chewy finish. Quite concentrated but this doesn't come off as heavy.
