Note di degustazione
Vivid purple. An expressive, highly perfumed bouquet evokes ripe black and blue fruits, incense and candied flowers. Spicy, penetrating and appealingly sweet on the palate, with the juicy boysenberry and cherry flavors given spine by a smoky mineral quality. Smooths out and deepens on the long, velvety finish, which features harmonious tannins and a sexy floral pastille flourish.

A smaller production release that’s aged 12 months in once-used demi-muid, the 2012 Crozes Hermitage le Rouvre is a smoking, full-bodied effort that has stunning purity of fruit, a stacked mid-palate and a layered, seamless texture that keeps you coming back to the glass. Giving up plenty of licorice, graphite, crushed rock and cassis and blackcurrant-like fruit, it should drink nicely through 2022.
Meaty and rich; greater range and heaviness than their generic Crozes. Despite that, delicate balance and body on the finish, with classic Syrah fruit – but not so much pepperiness. (RH)
