1999 Cabernet Sauvignon Margaret River

The 1999 Cabernet Sauvignon is meaty and brooding, both aromatically and in the mouth. The wine is complex: layered with bay leaf and licorice, resinous tar and roasted meat drippings. Interestingly, this is one of only two vintages to have a wild ferment at Moss Wood—this and the 2000. There is elegance here, but it is not its overwhelming attribute. Rather, its power and muscle are. The wine is showing a little development and premature advancement.
